Amazing, it is the end of and era and the beginning of a new one.

Anger, joy, uncertainty, frustration, exasperation, lust, annoyance, doubt, love, happiness, elation and faith. Those were all the feelings that I had while reading this masterpiece. At the end of Torment I felt lost, and confused, and I was placed right into that pain, and loss in Faith. I followed Alexis on her journey in the Otherworld and Hell, and felt her pain and suffering, but was also so frustrated with her doubt in the ones who had no reason to lead her astray. I yelled at her and wanted to shake her out of her craziness, but I was glued to her journey because I knew she would pull through, and yet she kept sinking. Tristian really amazed me with his ability to really stick with her even though she wasn't deserving of his faith in her when she had no faith in anything. Try as I may I couldn't predict what would happen on each new page, and I was in wonder at the story unfolding, I thought I knew this world so well, but I had no idea. Being with them on their journeys to hell and back then back again was terrifying but I always had a kernel of hope and my relief was granted when Alexis finally sees what I knew she was missing in front of her very eyes. Her entire journey had led to this, her embracing that God and the Angels really had everybody's best interests taken care of. I was relieved that she finally let go and let all the love and hope into her heart. I was shocked and angered and hurt by 2 of the deaths that occurred, and I am not sure I understand the reasons for their loss :(. Then the truth of Dorian's purpose shocked me, left me feeling afraid and uncertain, but at the same time relieved because he was serving his purpose and he was safe, and he still had love in him. I was very surprised and over the moon with the future of their family and how it would grow, and what was in store for the heros who saved the souls of many while becoming a piece of mine. I cannot describe in words how much this book touched my heart, and evoked emotions of every kind. I am sad to see an era end, but am anxious for what is next. This book was the best series ender I have ever read. Thank you Kristie Cook for writing us such a wonderful world to become ensnared in. I will never be able to show you my true appreciation for the hard work, dedication and piece of your soul you have given to your readers. Amazing!!

My top favorite series of all times comes to an amazing end!

I do not want to give away ANYTHING about this book. So bear with me please.

As a blogger, it is my job to convey my feelings to you, the potential reader. Not just outline the book. You can get that information reading the jacket cover. This book blew me away as has this whole series. I have been with this series from the very beginning when Promise first came out. I stalked author Kristie Cook on Facebook to find out if I could get a signed copy from her as the book sounded like something I would TOTALLY love. SEVERAL years later, and here we are sharing the release of FAITH, the final installment of the Soul Savers Series.

There have been ups and downs, love and hate, laughter and tear. I have wanted to both hug the hell out of Kristie and strangle her at the same time (no lie and she knows this). THIS my friends is what makes one amazing writer. Kristie has the most amazing talent of pulling you into her stories like you are an actual character witnessing her world first hand. Not just the love and hate, Heaven and Hell, Angels and Demon and digging deep down to find out in the true core of yourself who you really are. THAT is what Author Kristie Cook does to you when reading her books. Her characters are so real, her worlds so amazing both in a positive and negative way. If you learn any type of lesson from her books, GOOD FOR YOU! If you are reading and enjoying the stories, GOOD FOR YOU TOO! Everyone reads them differently. That is another amazing aspect of Kristie Cook.

To wrap up the finale of this series, I am honored to be a Kristie Cook fan. I am honored to be on her street team. I am honored to have met Kristie in Chicago at ALA face to face. Most of all, I am honored to share the love of this series with ANYONE that I can possibly get to listen to me. This series has every aspect of Paranormal in it that I LOVE and I will read it over and over for years to come. Just remember this,

I Promise that the Purpose of reading books by Author Kristie Cook is a Devotion that is not about Power but about the Wrath you will never know if you miss out on these books. I will experience severe Torment if you do not have Faith that I will not steer you wrong. Enjoy reading my friends.

All you need is a little Faith

After an excruciating Torment I was brought into this book with as much Faith as I could muster. It may have only been the size of a mustard seed but it was there. I knew there was no way Kristie could bring the series so far and through so much to end it so awfully.

From the Prologue to the Epilogue I went through a wide range of emotions just as Alexis does. I feared for Alexis & Tristan, Dorian, Sasha, Owen, Shree, Char, Blossom, Vanessa all of the cast members I have grown to care about throughout the series.

Kristie brought the book and series together beautifully. I could not be happier with an ending, everything played out as it should. No questions are left unanswered! I can't wait to see what's next up Kristie's sleeve.

About the Author

Richard P. Seiter is a career correctional professional, having worked in prisons and for correctional agencies for more than thirty years. Following receipt of his Ph.D. in Public Administration from the Ohio State University (OSU), he began a career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons BOP and worked in four federal prisons (was warden of two). He was also Director of the BOP Staff Training Center in Denver, Colorado, and was the first Chief of the NIC National Academy of Corrections. He also served as both Assistant Director for Industries, Education, and Training and Chief Operating Officer of Federal Prison Industries, with sales of over $400 million per year of prison-made products.

Dr. Seiter was Director of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for almost six years. In this position, he was responsible for all Ohio prisons, the parole board and parole supervision, and many community correctional programs. He managed an annual budget of $400 million and a staff of 8,000, and he oversaw the construction of more than 10,000 prison beds at a cost of $500 million. After retiring from the BOP, he became Professor and Director of Criminal Justice at Saint Louis University (SLU). During this time, he wrote two textbooks, published several articles, and expanded the program and course offerings at SLU. From 2005 until 2011, he was Executive Vice President of Corrections Corporation of America, the largest private prison company in the United States. In this position, Dr. Seiter oversaw the operation of the sixth largest prison system in the country, with 63 prisons, 17,000 staff members, and 75,000 inmates.

Cost Savings for college students.

Jana Echevarría is a Professor Emerita at California State University, Long Beach. She has taught in elementary, middle, and high schools in general education, special education, ESL, and bilingual programs. She has lived in Taiwan, Spain and Mexico. An internationally known expert on second language learners, Dr. Echevarría is a Fulbright Specialist. Her research and publications focus on effective instruction for English learners, including those with learning disabilities. Currently, she is Co-Principal Investigator with the Center for Research on the Educational Achievement and Teaching of English Language Learners (CREATE) funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences (IES). In 2005, Dr. Echevarría was selected as Outstanding Professor at CSULB.

MaryEllen Vogt, Ed.D., is a Professor Emerita of Education at California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Vogt has been a classroom teacher, reading specialist, special education specialist, curriculum coordinator, and university teacher educator. She received her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a co-author of fifteen books, including Reading Specialists and Literacy Coaches in the Real World (3rd ed., 2011) and the SIOP® book series. Her research interests include improving comprehension in the content areas, teacher change and development, and content literacy and language acquisition for English learners. She was inducted into the California Reading Hall of Fame, received her university’s Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award, and served as President of the International Reading Association in 2004—2005.

Deborah J. Short is a professional development consultant and a senior research associate at the Center for Applied Linguistics in Washington, DC. She co-developed the SIOP® Model for sheltered instruction and has directed national research studies on English language learners funded by the Carnegie Corporation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the U.S. Dept. of Education. She chaired an expert panel on adolescent ELL literacy that produced a policy report. As the director of Academic Language Research & Training, Dr. Short provides professional development on sheltered instruction and academic literacy around the U.S. and abroad. She has numerous publications, including the SIOP® book series and five ESL textbook series for National Geographic/Hampton-Brown. She has taught English as a second/foreign language in New York, California, Virginia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Must Have Text

Jana J. Echevarria does a better job at breaking down the SIOP Model than any other book I've ever read in regards to SIOP. I purchased this book as a textbook for my Teaching English as a Second Language Graduate Class. Most textbooks contain some, but not all useful information about a subject. After taking my class and reading this book, I have no lingering questions about the details of the SIOP Model, the practicality of the SIOP Model, or the ways of the SIOP Model's operation. If you are an educator who works with English Language Learners at any level, this book is a must have book. I purchased the book for half the cost of my college campus's book price from the seller on Amazon. Making Content Comprehensible for English Learners arrived on my door step just three days after the order was made. I ordered this book as a brand new book and still got a heck of a bargain from Amazon. I would recommend the book, the seller, and Amazon to any and all people who read any type of books.

The kindle version is nothing but a pdf

Do not buy the kindle version, it is a PDF. It does not scale correctly and is not readable on a kindle. In fact, the kindle version is a rip off. Amazon should be ashamed for taking money for this crap.

A helpful and user friendly resource

I bought this book for a class, but it was so easy to use and helpful that I chose to keep it after the class ended. The main thing I really learned from this book was the need for having language objectives along with content objectives so that students know what is expected. The lesson plans are helpful, and the authors really make this book user friendly. I used this book with my English language learners.

A western with an unusual storyline

When Slocum and his partner, Billy Quince, end the life of a notorious cattle rustler, it's the young man's first kill. But Billy's first kill is far from his last as the infamous rustler leaves him with a mysterious - and murderous - legacy. Now Billy's got the taste for the limelight and begins a savage killing spree. As the death toll grows, Slocum takes on the task of breaking the deadly spell - if he can stay alive long enough...

Robert Vardeman has been writing as Jake Logan since 1984 - and I think still is today - and this must be his strangest storyline (at least of those I've read).

Dead Man's Spurs has a strong supernatural element to the plot and this makes it one of the more unusual westerns I've read, and comes as a surprise as it's part of the Slocum series where one wouldn't expect such as story.

Slocum has always been a tough, hard man but even he is repulsed by the changes in Billy. Changes that horrify Billy's sister as Billy continues on his quest to kill everyone he meets whilst searching for his intended target, that of John Wesley Hardin.

What makes this a gripping read is the need to know whether the spurs are really the cause of the changes in Billy, history seems to say so.

The book really picks up in pace as a sceptical Slocum attempts to stop Billy and destroy the myth of the spurs.

If you fancy a more unusual storyline in a western then this one is well worth tracking down.
