Pam Fox is one of a handful of Certified Lipsologists in the world. She is a keynote speaker on the subject and has appeared in interviews on ABC, NBC, CBS, The Travel Channel and several local TV stations in the Phoenix area. She has been invited to speak on radio programs as far away as South Africa. She is presently touring with a major cosmetic company at events nationwide. This is one of those books that will change forever the way you look at your own life. Pam Fox has a gift, and it is not only in reading your lip lines in your lip-sticked lip prints but she also has a gift in relaying her expertise in a way that allows us to gain insight for ourselves into who we are based on our personal patterns. No two lip prints are alike she says, just like finger prints. They are unique to each individual. There are holograms all over the body that show how our biography is playing out in our biology, and Pam helps us explore a very unique way of getting to know ourselves on a more conscious level based on our subconscious thoughts and how that shows up in our Lip Prints. I was continuously intrigued to find myself easily in the shapes, lines and nuances of the lips and I was seriously wondering throughout the book - What are my Lips Really Saying? Her writing style is witty and draws us in as we seek more and more about who we are. I was hooked at the beginning as she explained how the story of the lips evolved, entrenched by the time I read that same size lip fullness on top and bottom meant you are a teacher (which I am), and beyond intrigued as I continued to read about myself within the lines of the pages and the lines in my lips. By the time I finished the book, I was ready and willing to find other’s patterns within these pages. I know that it will take time to get anywhere near Pam’s level of expertise in understanding the lip prints, but I do know that I will have fun trying. Kudos Pam Fox, for a truly Fun and Engaging Read. I look forward to the Course.

Excellent History of the Fall of South Vietnam

I have read a number of books about the fall of South Vietnam, and was very pleased to find that this is the best account of the collapse of South Vietnam. It covers the points of view of all sides in the conflict. Not only does it cogently argue the reasons for the collapse of the South Vietnamese military and government, but gives one a good feeling for the experiences of those who participated in those events. The book is highly readable, and I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in this period of history.

Excellent book explaning how the VN War has ended the way it did ...

I have read the Vietnamese version of this book, and am now re-reading the English version. Overall, I think it is a good book, with very good and sharp arguments as to why the US has failed in Vietnam. The author has judiciously and cautiously weighed in the points he is trying to make, so as not to sound one-sided and fanatical. Fighting and loosing a war, especially in the case of South Vietnam, is a very emotional thing. If any lessons are to be learnt from that experience, we have to have the courage to do so, in a way that future generations will not have to make those same mistakes again.

Dyeing and Bleaching

If you plan to try your own dyeing and bleaching of furs and feathers than you need this book it will save you a lot of time and trouble and cut the learning curve down to nothing. it tells you just what you need and how to mix the dyes and how to prep the fur (like it tells you to soak the fur or feather in water for a while before dyeing, I have never read that any place else and it helped) so lots of information and tips
if I had purchased this book frist I would have save the cost on failed fur dyeing.

Good intro to subject, but lacks examples and applications

A well written and concise introduction to the subject emphasizing the mathematical principles. This book concentrates on differential operators instead of series solutions of Schroedinger's equation making it a unique and valuable text. Ohanian shows the reader how to reduce a differential equation to a simple algebraic one using the factorization method. The text includes a very good bibliography with useful descriptions of other books. There are intra-chapter exercises designed to prepare you for the end of chapter problems, although not all of them are quite as straightforward as the author claims. The problem sets are longer and more varied than those in most other Q.M. texts and the answers to selected problems are in the back of the book. I have two major complaints about this text, each of which cost the book one star. First, there are no worked examples. Although Ohanian's explanations of the basic principles are very good, the lack of examples make some of the exercises unnecessarily difficult to solve and it forces the less mathematically gifted reader to seek another text to figure out how to complete the "straightforward exercises." Second, the book is lacking in applications. While I realize that no book could possibly adequately cover the many applications of Q.M., a few carefully written sections on specific applications would be helpful. If you need a good reference on differential operator techniques in Q.M., or a 2nd book to supplement your required text, this book could fill the bill. However, I would not recommend it as a primary text for the reasons discussed above.

one of the best texts on "the operator method to quantum mechanics"

First of all, Ohanian's text on " the principles of quantum mechanics" is one of the best texts available on "the operator method to quantum mechanics".

Traditionally, the introductory quantum mechanics texts usually begin with the historical overview of the old quantum theory or with the Schrodinger's PDE. Thus, Ohanian's text is not introductory text on QM at all! Instead, it can serve best as a text for one who has his first exposure to wave mechanics formalism of QM and historical overview of the old quantum mechanics. One with this background can appreciate the value of Ohanian's text on QM.

Ohanian's text on QM has a good section on "how to use the operator method to solve the hydrogen atom problem" which is hard to find in most texts at this level on QM.

In addition to his QM text, his books on "classical electrodynamics" and "gravitation and spacetime" are also unique, and worth reading, too.

About the Author

Thomas G. Gunning, a former elementary school reading consultant, junior high English teacher, and secondary school reading specialist, is Professor Emeritus, Southern Connecticut State University, where he was department chair and reading clinic director. Gunning is currently an Adjunct Professor, Reading/ Language Arts Department, Central Connecticut State University. He has conducted research on group reading inventories, vocabulary assessment, reading disabilities, intervention programs, readability, response to intervention, decoding processes and strategies, and literacy skills needed to cope with high-stakes tests. For a textbook, a good read

For a textbook, this was definitely five stars. The information was presented in a non-dry and applicable way. The pages are headed so that the amount of text per page is not overwhelming. It gives helpful strategies and things to consider when assessing and instructing students with reading and writing difficulties.

Robert Sedgewick�is the William O. Baker Professor of Computer Science at Princeton University, where he was founding chairman of the Department of Computer Science. He has held visiting research positions at Xerox PARC, Institute for Defense Analyses, and INRIA, and served on the board of directors at Adobe Systems. His research interests include analytic combinatorics, design and analysis of algorithms and data structures, and program visualization. He has written seventeen books.

Great first book in a "series"

I do love the Sedgewick "series" of CS books that I've read ( Programming -> Algorithms -> Analysis of Algorithms). This book is an excellent introduction to CS. One thing I am not sure of is the difference between this book, and a book like "Introduction to Programming in Java".

This follows the traditional format of his books. Readers of his red Algorithms textbook will feel right at home. I learn something new every time I read his books. It's for an introductory course, but anyone who can do every problem in this book will be better than most software engineers in the industry.

Jackson Reese married a pampered princess only to later have his heart broken. Jackson could never regret his relationship with his ex because without her he would never have had his daughter. Jackson loves his daughter, Chloe, with all his heart. He loves her although she acts just like her pampered mother. Chloe has been staying with him since they kicked her out of boarding school. She has also been through lots of babysitters. Jackson has no idea what to do next. That is, until he gets pressured and blackmailed to hire Bentley Cunningham. Bentley's mother donates money to Jackson's nonprofit organization, so he feels like he has no choice but to hire the woman. Jackson has no respect for the stuck up, pampered, society princess that struts into his office. He finally agrees to give Bentley a job as his daughter's babysitter. He figures it will not take her long to quit and run back to her daddy's credit cards. Jackson discovers that he does not know the first thing about Bentley Cunningham. Bentley learns a lot about herself and the world outside her father's money. The story was even more interesting with the addition of Jackson's daughter Chloe who was a major part of the story. I have to admit that I do not know how Bentley stuck it out with Jackson so long. It takes a strong woman to put up with all of Jackson's insecurities.

About the Author

Daniel C. Funk is a Professor and Washburn Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Sport and Recreation Management within the School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management at Temple University, USA. His research examines sport consumer experience through the investigation of internal and external factors that shape attitudes and behaviour in related industry sectors. He has been recognized as a Research Fellow for the Sport Marketing Association and the North American Society for Sport Management. Dr Funk has published articles and chapters in a variety of academic journals and textbooks and served as Editor for Sport Marketing Quarterly.

Kostas Alexandris is an Associate Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He earned his PhD from the University of Manchester, UK. He was previously a faculty member of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr Alexandris has published more than 60 research articles in international academic journals and several book chapters on topics related to sport, leisure, tourism consumer behaviour and marketing. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Leisure Research and serves on the Editorial Boards of Sport Management Review, the Journal of Service Theory and Practice, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Managing Sport and Leisure and International Journal of Sport Management. He is also the editor of the book Performance Measurement and Leisure Management, published by Routledge.

Heath McDonald is Professor of Marketing and the Associate Dean in the Faculty of Business and Law at Swinburne University, Australia. He is an expert in the field of customer acquisition and retention, particularly in subscription markets. His academic research work has been published in journals in the fields of Marketing, Sport Management and Hospitality. Rave Reviews for Morris Cerullo Financial Freedom Bible! Everything this ministry does is excellent. The leather is fine leather, very smooth, the pages are thin and gold-edged, but mostly the contents on financial revelations is amazing. They are truly words to live by and to be greatly encouraged by. I recommend this Bible to everyone who wants to know what God thinks about money, how to manage money, who gets the first bit out of your paycheck and why, and how to prosper in a teetering world of financial unrest. You will be blessed if you follow the wisdom of this wonderful man of God, whom we call "Papa" because of his love to all of us over the years. His walk with God is truly amazing - a man in his 80's now - over 60 years of ministry and still going like the mighty "General in God's Army that he is.

It is exciting to see this Bible available on Amazon at such a great price! I own a copy and I have to say this Bible is really impressive with it's practical, easy to use study tools, commentary, faith declarations, business principles, Dr Cerullo's prophetic insights and Biblical financial principles from over 60 years of ministry. I don't think there is another Bible available that highlights EVERY scripture dealing with finance from Genesis to Revelation, and teaches you how to apply God's principles for finance to your everyday life. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I really enjoy this Bible. You can see the preparation and prayer that was put into this Bible. It has great commentary and insight into the Word of God on Biblical finances. I highly recommend this Bible even in addition to the Bible you may already have!

Prior to the eighth century, the aristocratic drinking party had excluded monks from participating in elite culture. Over cups of tea, however, monks and literati could meet on equal footing and share in the same aesthetic values. Monks and scholars thus found common ground in the popular stimulant—one with few side effects that was easily obtainable and provided inspiration and energy for composing poetry and meditating. In addition, rituals associated with tea drinking were developed in Chan monasteries, aiding in the transformation of China's sacred landscape at the popular and elite level. Pilgrimages to monasteries that grew their own tea were essential in the spread of tea culture, and some monasteries owned vast tea plantations. By the end of the ninth century, tea was a vital component in the Chinese economy and in everyday life.

Tea in China transcends the boundaries of religious studies and cultural history as it draws on a broad range of materials—poetry, histories, liturgical texts, monastic regulations—many translated or analyzed for the first time. Dispensing with the usual (and quite sad) tendency to repeat the tired myths about tea as if they were absolute truths, he has dug down deep into the sources and refreshingly returned with clarity and eruditness to not only dispel the false, but more so, to paint a new picture of the evolution of tea and tea culture in China. This is a very valuable book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Tea in Old China

I can only agree 100% with Matthew London's review (the only other one so far). This is a major work. It covers tea in China from the beginning through the Ming Dynasty; it is best on Tang and Song. It draws on a vast range of Chinese sources, almost none of them previously mined in any detail by western writers. It does indeed, as London says, avoid the tired myths; it breaks new ground and provides us new translations throughout. Benn shows that tea was closely associated with Buddhism from the beginning through Song. He provides details on differing ways of brewing the stuff over the centuries. He has some fun with the incredible lengths of tea connoisseurship, which resemble wine snobbery today. For anyone interested in tea, or in the history of Chinese consumption, this is an indispensable book.
