Great information presented. I was looking for the references, and found it stated that they are online. Wow, that's a bummer. Why should readers have to go elsewhere for references, when it should all be in the book they purchased?

Well Worth It

Though I've not been through all the cases in this book as of this review, those I have read thus far have proven to be very informative. The cases themselves as well as the history, etiology, discussions and treatment are fascinating. In this book you will find conditions that fit someone you know or have known, maybe even yourself at some point in your life. My experience with major depressive disorder (296.2/DSM IV) a few years ago was brought into a new light by the case described in this book. It helped me understand my condition and why it developed as it did. As a sidenote, I gradually stopped my Lexapro after about 14 months and no longer need or want an anti-depressant. Anyone interested in abnormal psychology, whether a layperson or clinician will find this book educational and a good read.

Very interesting, but some of the case studies don't have very clear outcomes (even up to the current time, if individuals are still in treatment or have discontinued it). For those training to become practitioners, it might not be the most helpful.
